Portrait of the day: Kent and Brittany Divemaster trainees
Since they know each other, Kent and Brittany have always shared their love for adventure. Eventually, they decided to leave their city life to go on travelling around the world.
Since Scuba diving has been one of Kent’s favourite hobbies for ages, it made sense that he encouraged Brittany to give it a try. At the beginning of their travels, she tried the challenge. As soon as she went on her first dive, she was hooked. Quickly, they began the underwater portion of their adventure by diving in every destination.
The more they dove, the more they wanted to learn about the underwater world and become better divers. At the time they were due to head back to the United States, they decided to extend their travels. Let’s find an amazing place to fit in a divemaster internship together!
We hope to use our training to continue exploring the underwater world, one dive at a time and to share our love for diving.
Why a Divemaster training at Legend Diving Lembongan?
The decision was made while they were already in Indonesia. After investigation and some thoughts, they chose Nusa Lembongan island to get their training done. The first reason was because of the vast variety of marine life that can be seen within our marine sanctuary. The second reason was that the thought of learning to dive with strong currents would make them better divers.
Additionally, they were also hoping for a place that brought many tourists. Therefore, they would expect a lot of experience working and assisting Instructors from all over the world. This said it would also have to be a place that still had the off-the-beaten-track small-island vibe. Nusa Lembongan was just the right obvious place to do so.
When came the time to decide which dive center they will go with, they started to visit the shops directly onsite. Basically, one morning they walk by Legend Diving and didn’t leave for the next 8 weeks.
Brittany and Kent love the sense of peace they have underwater. Together with the intense curiosity and anticipation that emerges when they dip below the surface. One of their favourite elements of diving is that no matter how many times you visit a particular site, it will never be the same experience.
